Space Hire Available for Exhibitions

e+Hive is proud to offer artists a light, modern space to showcase their works to both local and international buyers.

Located in Prahran on busy Commercial Road nearby to bustling Prahran Market and surrounded by cafes, galleries and eateries, e+Hive is only a five minute walk from Prahran Station, as well as easily accessible by the 72 tram.

We welcome applications from artists and collectives working in all mediums to exhibit in our gallery, and offer installation, staffing, promotion and other services as listed below.

GALLERY Venue HIRE

    • Approximately 80 sqm exhibition space (please check the gallery floor plan attached below, currently only showroom B plus one side of front display is for available for hiring)
    • 3 and half walls and 2 portable walls included. (Can display around 18 pieces of standard size oil paintings)
    • Portable display stands are available for sculptures and installations (10 in total).
    • One side of front window display available.
  • COMMISSION IS 20% OF SALE PRICE
  • Initial deposit of 25% to secure dates, full balance paid two weeks before show.

The above hire prices include:
1 staff member for 2 days art installation & staffing during gallery hours, note that installation must be completed 1 day prior to exhibition opening day.

Gallery Hours: Every Thursday to Saturday: 10:30am – 5:30pm, Sunday: 10:30am – 3:30pm

Ehive provides:

  • Staffing during Gallery hours, any staffing addition to our opening hours will be charged extra according to the hourly rate.
  • Gallery lightings (any additional lightings will be charged separately or hirer is to be provided their own)
  • Free Art Guide listing (exhibition information must be provided 2 months prior)
  • Social media advertising including Facebook, Instagram, Wechat (exhibition information are required to be provided, any special requirements may charge extra according to amount of work, etc.)
  • Basic kitchen facilities for opening (tap water, sink, plastic plates/cups/cutleries). Glassware is available upon request, may cost extra if damaged or missing.
  • All power and outgoings.
  • Projector and sound system.

At an additional cost (please discuss when signing contract):

  • Bar staff for opening functions or events (needed to be discussed prior to the exhibition period. Charge according to number of staffing and hours)
  • Photography service
  • Vinyl lettering (Optional)
  • Designing and printing of promotional materials
  • Consumables (food & drinks)
  • Envelops and stamping (Optional)
  • Media listing
  • Any insurance claim over $10,000
  • Other special requirements

Hirer responsibilities:

  • All costs associated with postage & printing of invitations
  • Printing costs and distribution of hard copy invitations.
  • Transportation of works to and from the gallery.
  • Catering for opening night functions
  • Follow up of media releases
  • Rubbish removal following exhibitions, performances and functions (any rubbish left on the premises will incur a disposal charge)

NB: e+Hive retains the right to program one-off events during your hire period. Any event programmed will always be discussed with the hirer and will be scheduled to run outside of normal Gallery hours. One-off events will have no effect on your exhibition and will be completely packed up before the Gallery re-opens. e+Hive member will be present for the duration of any event to ensure the security of your artwork. While the main function of e+Hive is to act as a gallery space, these events are considered of benefit to exhibiting artists through additional exposure provided to new audiences.

Exhibitions: gallery hours: Wednesday-Saturday (11am-5pm)

All hirers are expected to comply with OH&S standards.
