Bruno Leti

1943 Born Roccantica, Italy, 70 kilometres north east of Rome. 1952 Arrived Australia, lived with his family on a farm at Clonbinane, Victoria. 1952-61 Primary and secondary education – Salesian Brothers College, ‘Rupertswood’, Broadford and Seymour High School. 1961-64 Studied art at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, University of Melbourne, Melbourne Teachers’ College, Caulfield Institute of Technology; Associate Diploma of Fine Art Painting (RMIT) Dip. Ed. 1966 Married Rosemary Stanmore.

1967 Travelled to Europe visiting Italy, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, Holland and Scandinavia.
1968 Taught English at Ostia, near Rome. 1969 Travelled to Canada, taught art at Scott Park Secondary College in Hamilton, Ontario, where the Bruno Leti Award for the best art student each year established. Visited New York, Washington, Boston.

1970 Returned to Australia.

1971 Employed as Education Officer at the National Gallery of Victoria.

1972 Awarded the ‘Premio Italia’ Prize in Melbourne. Awarded the Caltex Award for Art.

1973 Post Graduate studies in printmaking with Tate Adams at RMIT.

1976 Completed Fellowship Diploma in Printmaking, RMIT Travelled to Peru, Brazil and Argentina.

1976 Pederson Prize, Queensland Art Gallery The Alice Prize, Alice Springs.

1978 Commissioned Member Print (Cloud cover, etching/aquatint), Print Council of Australia, subsequent commissions 1982, 1985

1982 Son Adriano born. The Mitchelton Print Prize. pent three months at Grafica Uno, Milan; working with Master Printmaker Giorgio Upiglio.

1984 Worked at Grafica Uno, Milan. 1991 Worked at Grafica Uno, Milan.

1993 Beginning of on-going collaboration with Raphael Fodde Editions in New York.

1997 Silk Cut Award (acquired)

1998 Commission, Victorian Tapestry Workshop.

Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, New York. Ellen Jones Memorial Print Award Warrnambool 2006 Awarded State
Library of Victoria Creative Fellowship.

1999 Commission to paint monumental works for the East and West Galleries of the new Children’s Court in Melbourne
