“On Paper.Supreme” criticises the stereotypical materiality of paper while exploring the possibility of visual presentation of the material. Relatively to other painting exhibitions, works on paper are more direct, simple. They are relaxed and sensual, making an immediate impact on the viewer.

Featuring seven artists’ works, this exhibition allowing us to take a peek into these artists’ directions and intrinsic spirits. In an attempt to encompass the multi-faceted spatial concept of “paper”, there is a breakthrough from the traditional concept of “paper” and its historic mission throughout the ages. Hereby the artists are exposing unexpected new roles for paper at contemporary era.

With the current progress of science and technology, the emancipation of mankind, the diversity of paper, its universality and recreation on waste paper, the application of “paper media” has diversified to various unexpected exotic art pieces. A new type of paper arts has arrived.
