Li Hong graduated from the Printmaking Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1984. She moved to Australia in 1987 and received a master’s degree from the School of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales. She graduated from the School of Art, University of Sydney with a master’s degree in 2007.
Li Hong’s works have been exhibited across Australia and participated in large-scale exhibitions in Beijing and Tibet in China etc, as well as large-scale international exhibitions such as the Malaysia Salsa Festival, Hungary and the United States, and are deeply loved by collectors.
Li Hong’s works are often different from traditional Chinese themes and techniques. Her exaggerated sculpture forms, exquisite artistic images, and distinctive personal expressions are mostly derived from deep self-emotional expressions.
In addition to being a painter, she is also the person in charge of Colorful Culture Co., Ltd., a senior curator, and the founder of the Australia-China Cultural Exchange Association. She has been committed to cultural and artistic exchanges between China and Australia for many years. She has facilitated multiple art exhibitions held by Australian and Chinese artists at famous art venues such as the Adelaide Arts Festival, Sydney Chinese Cultural Center, Beijing Art Week, and Sydney Town Hall. She also helped facilitate the touring exhibitions of young Chinese contemporary art artists in Sydney, Adelaide, and Tasmania, as well as the ongoing exhibitions of Chinese and Australian female artists on International Women’s Day every year. She donates artwork to fight against cancer. She is an artist who is dedicated and cares about the community.
