Xiaoyu Bai
XIaoyu: “I want to combine Western techniques with Chinese culture concepts of Tao, Chan, and Huanyuan Qi with the objective of producing painting that creates new combination of visual language. Usually nature object is a source for my images, but beyond the nature object, my intention is to evoke an atmosphere of calmness, vital energy and contemplation for the viewer. In my painting, I pay particular attention to the manipulation of space, light, marks, the edges of form, colour, surface, format and scale.”
