There can be hardly any connection between the artists about their works. Each of these three artists in this exhibition have their strong and distinctive art style, which can be identified at one sight.
Michael Downs plays with saturated colour and random parts. Lines, broken industrial materials, blocks of colour, and fragment of text, together they are being broken down and reformed into something new, in a new set of order.
Shaohua Nong arranges a fair amount of unnoticeable details in his images – demolished materials, disfigured and blurry shade of human beings, yet the pure, childlike symbols – toys and animals. Together they forms a series of dark fantasies.
Those human figures in Yifeng Tan’s works are always eye catching. As if lead by passions and desire, they are always trying to reach out for something: this time, some giant, poisonous like, floating apples.
